Answers to your website builder questions
I already have a domain name. How do I add it to my website?Important: Your domain cannot be set up on your site until after you have paid for your site.
You will need to complete the instructions following to add an existing domain name to your site:

Step 1.
You need to configure the DNS for your domain as follows:

Primary DNS server: ns1.domaincityservers.com
Secondary DNS Server: ns2.domaincityservers.com

Changing this information is different depending on your registrar. In most cases, the changes are made online. For the exact steps, refer to the instructions provided by the domain registrar, or contact their support team to request them. If you require further assistance with setting up the DNS entries, you can also send Support your domain registrar's website address and the login information for your account with them. Please include which domain you are setting up.

Step 2.

In your website, click the 'Edit Site' tab -> 'Domain & Email' -> 'I already have...'.

Enter your purchased domain name in the field titled 'Domain Name of Website' and click on 'Save'.

The domain change must then propogate (spread across the internet) and will complete within 48 hours in most instances.
Note about editing: You will continue to edit on your [host.title] version of your site after your domain name is configured. Any changes you make there automatically show up on your domain. Basically, your domain draws all its information from whatever is on your [host.title] site.
Note About Links: Any links which are automatically generated by us will switch to your domain when you are on the domain name version of your site (eg, the index buttons). Any links you insert where you actually type in the web address, such as links in the text content of your site, will need to be amended to use your domain name and not to your [host.title] address. For example, if you have inserted a link to: http://www.yoursite.[host.title]/page/page/123456.htm You will need to edit it to link to: http://www.yourdomain.com/page/page/123456.htm The steps to edit links are similar to the steps used to insert the link initially. If you're unsure, please contact us and we can provide further assistance.
Note About E-mail: Email services through your domain registrar stop working once you change your DNS settings. Once the domain is configured with your site, you can set up identical email accounts through your site.
